Yellowcard broke our hearts on June 24 and announced they will be breaking up. The band are currently on the Final World Tour, which started soon after the release of their self-titled album on Sept. 30 via Hopeless Records. The band also made their way throughout the country on Warped Tour this summer.

“When saying farewell, it is hard to know where to start, especially when there are so many reasons not to say it, but the time has come to share this news,” said the band in a unified statement. “After countless discussions and months of thought, we have decided that it is time for Yellowcard to come to an end. This will be our last album and our final world tour.”

To AP, Yellowcard vocalist Ryan Key said of the breakup: "It was not easy to do, of course.

“Some of the reasons are kind of personal, so it’s hard to spell out everything that went into the decision. It was a long process of coming to terms with why this needed to happen and how it was going to happen. The important thing is we got to a place where we knew this was the direction it was going to go, and we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to do it our way and plan it out step by step.”

At the 2016 APMAs, Yellowcard were awarded with the Vans "Off The Wall" honor for creative expression and played a melody of career-spanning songs with Emarosa's Bradley Walden, Moose Blood's Eddy Brewerton and Pierce The Veil's Vic Fuentes.

Yellowcard's expansive, 20-year career began in Jacksonville, Florida with the 1997 album Midget Tossing. But it was their fourth album—Ocean Avenue—that would prove to be the band's break-out hit.
