Several injured in shooting at YouTube headquarters—UPDATE

The Hollywood Reporter shares that the suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, as confirmed by San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini. He could not confirm, however, whether any victims or the shooter were employees of YouTube.

Reports say multiple people were injured in a shooting at YouTube's headquarters in San Bruno, California earlier this afternoon.

At least two people were struck by gunfire, “according to a law enforcement source who was not authorized to speak publicly about the incident,” the Los Angeles Times reported.

However, according to local station KTVU, three to five patients are being treated at SF General, and four to five patients are also reportedly being treated at Stanford University Medical Center. There is no word on the victims' conditions.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the shooter was a woman, and authorities don't believe this was an act of terrorism, but rather a case of domestic or workplace violence.

However, the investigation is still ongoing.

San Bruno City Manager Connie Jackson told KTVU there is no current threat to the public. “The situation is being handled. We have adequate police responders handling to the situation. The public should stay away from the area.”
