YUNGBLUD reveals album release date, new song coming “imminently”

YUNGBLUD captured the attention of many when he dropped his debut album 21st Century Liability in 2018. That was followed up by the underrated youth EP in Oct. 2019. Now, YUNGBLUD has finally revealed the release date for his second LP.

YUNGBLUD also has best-selling collaborations with Machine Gun KellyTravis BarkerHalsey and blackbear. In April, he will head stateside for the underrated youth North American spring tour.

In the early days of January, YUNGBLUD spoke about his second full-length record and teased a huge collaboration. Many believe it is Post Malone.

In an interview with MusicFeeds.com, when asked about the record and any big collabs on the album, YUNGBLUD said, “There is a mental one coming at the start of next year. I can’t say who it is yet but he is such a visionary artist. So fucking sick and he is a bridge between hip hop and rock and roll.”

It makes a lot of sense for Malone to be the collab YUNGBLUD is referring to. When asked if Malone could be the feature, YUNGBLUD simply said, “I can’t say but I’m glad you’re curious, you’ll just have to wait til 2020.”

Nevertheless, there is another potential candidate for the feature. Both Machine Gun Kelly and YUNGBLUD worked together already, with some help from Travis Barker on “I Think I’m OKAY.” The three hit the studio again back in November, sparking a cause of speculation. While the trio worked in the studio for Kelly’s new pop-punk fueled album that he is working on with Barker, that’s not to say another collab couldn’t be in the works. Kelly also mentions he is hoping to get Fronz from Attila and Bert McCracken from The Used.

It’s safe to say that either one fits the description as both Kelly and Malone seamlessly transcend between hip-hop and rock with ease.

But still, no one knew when the album would be released. Now we do. During the NME Awards, YUNGBLUD revealed backstage something he hasn’t said yet.

“There’s a song coming imminently and an album coming in August. I haven’t really said that to anyone.” YUNGBLUD says before discussing his love for Robert Smith and the Cure. He also announces that the new album has a couple of collabs but he can’t tell us who they are.

The full backstage interview is below.

That’s great news for YUNGBLUD fans because he also says there’s a song coming “imminently.” A new song on the horizon and a record in August gives us plenty to look forward to.
