We are just under a month away from the release of YUNGBLUD’s highly-anticipated sophomore album Weird! Arriving on Friday, Nov. 13, the album features the previously released title track, “strawberry lipstick,” “god save me, but don’t drown me out” and “cotton candy.”

YUNGBLUD debuted the pop-infused anthem last week, offering another taste of his forthcoming album. He previously shared that “cotton candy” is all about sexual interaction and exploring who you really are.

“‘cotton candy’ is about sexual liberation,” YUNGBLUD says. “To me, sex and sexuality is about freedom. And the idea that you can to lose yourself in other people of all genders, of all shapes and sizes to find yourself and figure out who you truly are. Sexual interaction should not be shamed, it should be celebrated because to have safe sex is to spread love and the world needs love more than ever right now.”

YUNGBLUD also says that “cotton candy” is particularly important to him because of its message to fans. He hopes listeners can identify with the new single and realize that they can be, and love, whoever they want to.

“This song is so important to me because I see and speak to my fan base, facing insecurities around sexual interaction,” he says. “I want to let them know that it is ok to be EXACTLY WHO THEY ARE and have the right to unconditionally love who they want and be loved in return.”

Now, YUNGBLUD has unveiled his passionate new video for the single. The vocalist can be seen interacting with individuals from all walks of life as they continue to explore their own sexualities.
