YUNGBLUD offers up reflective “Die A Little” off ‘13 Reasons Why’

13 Reasons Why hits Netflix Aug. 23, and with it is a stacked soundtrack. Among the lineup are 5 Seconds Of Summer and YUNGBLUD with brand new songs.

We got an intense look at the new 5SOS track “Teeth” earlier this week, and now that the soundtrack has dropped, YUNGBLUD is fully ready to stream.

Last weekend, YUNGBLUD teased the new track and its single artwork, but now it’s finally here. This isn’t the first time the singer has appeared on a soundtrack for 13 Reasons Why. Last summer, ahead of his debut full-length 21st Century Liability, he teamed up with Charlotte Lawrence on “Falling Skies” for the season 2 release.

YUNGBLUD has been keeping rather busy since that debut release. He kicked off the year with with “Loner” and then offered up a contender for the collab of the year with Halsey and Travis Barker on “11 Minutes” the following month.

Shortly after announcing his first graphic novel, The Twisted Tales Of The Ritalin Club, the singer unleashed another single in “Parents.” Weeks later, Machine Gun Kelly shared a live debut of “I Think I’m OKAY,” the electric track that was the result of the much teased studio sessions with the blink-182 drummer and YUNGBLUD. The track hit streaming a few days later followed by an energetic video.

While he’s been teasing “Ice Cream Man” at various live shows lately, the next track to make its official debut was for the new Fast & Furious film. YUNGBLUD unleashed a dreamy cover of Jim Croce’s “Time In A Bottle” for Hobbs & Shaw.

Just ahead of this new track, YUNGBLUD shared “Hope For The Underrated Youth” and later a touching performance video. Now that you’re fully caught up with the singer’s exciting year thus far, check out “Die A Little” and its lyrics below.

YUNGBLUD “Die A Little” lyrics

Just when life gets messed up
Just when you can’t turn back
Sometimes, life gets like that
It’s my addiction
Take my foot off the gas
Step on paper-thin glass
Play the music and dance
It’s my addiction

‘Cause we are the lonely ones
We are the lonely ones
We are the lonely ones

All you gotta do is die a little, die a little
Die a little to survive
Help me take my precious time
All you gotta do is cry a little, cry a little
Cry a little to be fine
Help me figure out my mind

You help me sleep at night
Help me turn off the lights
Calm down my obsessed mind
You’re my religion
You can follow the lines
Piece by piece, time by time
Hold my hands when I’m blind
Like a magician

We are the lonely ones
We are the lonely ones
We are the lonely ones

All you gotta do is die a little, die a little
Die a little to survive
Help me take my precious time
All you gotta do is cry a little, cry a little
Cry a little to be fine
Help me figure out my mind

We are the lonely ones
We are the lonely ones
We are the lonely ones
‘Cause we are the lonely ones
We are the lonely ones
We are the lonely ones

And just when life gets messed up
Just when you can’t turn back
Sometimes, life gets like that
It’s my addiction
