Directed by Jason Armstrong of Skeleton Key Films, the ominous clip is the latest visual release from the band's recent album, 2016's The Well-Intentioned Virus. The pioneering metal quintet previously dropped a vid for Virus cut “Xenophobe,” featuring footage from their performance at A.U.R.A Fest 2017.

AP premiered the album version of “Xenophobe” prior to the release of The Well-Intentioned Virus—the song's first recording was issued on a limited 7-inch single. “This version of 'Xenophobe' is a little bit different than the single,” said Zao's Jeff Gretz. “Once we started mixing the rest of the record, it made sense to fit it into the sonic framework everything else was taking.”

Zao is on tour this month with dates on the West Coast. Check out the new video for “Broken Pact Blues” and see the list of cities and dates after the clip.

Zao tour dates:

06/22 – San Francisco, CA @ DNA Lounge
06/23 – Anaheim, CA @ Chain Reaction
06/24 – Mesa, AZ @ The Nile Theater
