It's official—'Zombieland 2' is happening in 2019
As we approach Zombieland‘s 10th anniversary rumors have been flying of a sequel to the film, with original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick teasing the possibility of a Zombieland 2. Well fam, it’s now official. We’re finally getting Zombieland 2—with a 2019 release date!

Deadline reports that the sequel is indeed a go with Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin all signing on to reprise their roles. Zombieland writers Wernick and Reese are also returning to write the sequel’s script.
The film is set to begin production in January of 2019 and currently has a release date of October 2019.
“Through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.”
