Twitter DMs go down amid several social media outages
Today has been highlighted by outages on the world’s largest social media platforms, and now Twitter has been added to that list.
Earlier today, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp users reported problems connecting, and now Twitter’s direct messaging feature seems to be acting up as well.

Twitter notified users shortly after reports began this morning. At the time of this article, the social media platform hasn’t updated on their progress through their support account.
“We’re currently having some issues with DM delivery and notifications. We’re working on a fix and will follow up as soon as we have an update for you. Apologies for the inconvenience,” the tweet reads.

Downdetector.com shows many users in the U.S. and Europe are still experiencing issues with Twitter features.
The latest string of outages follow a recurring trend of issues hitting social media over the past few weeks.
Instagram went down twice in June, while parent company Facebook and sister company WhatsApp are also experiencing issues very early into July.
If nothing else, users are taking the opportunity to slide in with a few cracks about not needing the Twitter DM feature, since they’re apparently not recieving messages anyways.
