Dr. Seuss said it best: “Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.” And we are so happy that we got to experience the Lucky Charms hourglass marshmallow before its upcoming departure.

Lucky Charms announced on social media yesterday that they will be discontinuing the hourglass-shaped marshmallow.

“The hourglass has been a part of Lucky Charms since 2008, but as with any hourglass, its time is up,” a General Mills representative told People magazine.

The magazine explains that the original marshmallow lineup, which debuted in 1963, included green clovers, pink hearts, orange stars and yellow moons. And now, only the pink heart remains.

But never fear. The shape will be replaced with a new unknown 'mallow. Keep checking up on their social media to see what's next for our favorite childhood cereal.

You'll be dearly missed, hourglass marshmallow.
