It’s been 14 years since Taking Back Sunday unleashed their third full-length Louder Now. Packed with fan favorites such as “What’s It Feel Like To Be A Ghost” and “Liar (It Takes One To Know One),” the record continues to live on nearly a decade and a half later.
While TBS have offered up the soundtrack to our lives across several of their albums, Louder Now is the one that brought us “MakeDamnSure.” The band’s set-closer with that unmistakable inhale continues to dominate playlists to this day. Do you remember all of the lyrics to “MakeDamnSure”? Test yourself below.
More on Taking Back Sunday
If you’ve ever watch Canadian teen drama Degrassi, you know the most notable celebrity to appear on the show is Drake (aka Wheelchair Jimmy) but a lesser-known appearance comes in the show with Taking Back Sunday’s Adam Lazzara.
Well, thanks to a curious fan, we’re finding out exactly how Lazzara made his way on to the show.
In Degrassi: The Next Generation, the sixth season sees Lazzara and the rest of the band performing in the two-part episode “What’s It Feel Like To Be A Ghost?”. The show’s resident goth girl Ellie Nash misses her chance to interview the band after distracting them.
The episode aired at the beginning of 2007 and now we’re finding out some background about the guest spot straight from the band themselves.
Writer Ashley Laderer asked the band directly about the episode and given that everyone is at home right now, they had time to give a detailed response.
we have time, shoot and we will try and answer

OMG thanks for responding! 🖤How did this collaboration happen? Did Degrassi call you or did you call Degrassi? Did “Craig” ever actually play you a version of MakeDamnSure? Did you get to go to the school set? My fellow Degrassi + TBS stans are going to be so happy. We love you!

Well, Laderer got her answer, and now we can rest easy knowing how this strange but amazing guest spot came together.
“Adam and his roommate Angel were watching one day and saw the episode with [Kevin Smith],” the band tweets. “That inspired Adam to want to be on since he was a fan of the original series. He called his people, they made some calls and we approached the show asking to be on.
“They invited us on and actually wrote the episode for us. We flew to Toronto and did everything on their set. Everyone was super nice to us. We didn’t hear Craig’s version. Funny story when Matt was going through customs with his work permit, the agent asked what work he was going to be doing there. He replied that he was going to appear on a TV show and the customs agent said, ‘What show, Degrassi?’ True story!”
