During their show last night (June 19), the Los Angeles-based metal quintet presented Dolores O'Riordan's family a check for $250,000.

O’Riordan was scheduled to meet the band to do vocals for the cover but died unexpectedly before she was able to record with them. After the singer's passing, the band decided to go forth with the release of the cover, with the promise of giving the late singer's family proceeds to the song.

Making good on their promise, the band invited O’Riordan’s family onstage and presented them with a check for $250,000, saying:

“It’s been our extreme honor to champion this song,” Vext shared. “In 1994, this record sold 40 million copies worldwide. It was the soundtrack to my youth, I grew up here in Brooklyn. Today is a very special night because Dolores’ family is here with us...We want to present them with this check from the money that you guys spent on our version of the song.”

The band's cover of the track has had huge success, hitting number one in over 17 countries and going gold in the U.S.
