boygenius are back with three new singles and a record on the way

boygenius are back, baby. The indie supergroup featuring Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus have shared three new singles — “$20,” “Emily I’m Sorry” and “True Blue” — that are sure to sting.

Even better, the music is accompanied by news of their full-length debut, quite literally called the record, which is out March 31 via Interscope Records.

The trio are also set to appear at both weekends of this year’s Coachella alongside BLACKPINK, Charli XCX, Rosalía, Snail Mail and more, which marks their first live show since their 2021 benefit concert in San Francisco.

In case you need a refresher, boygenius, named after “someone who their whole life has been told that their ideas are genius,” made waves in 2018 when they released their self-titled EP and played a small run of shows across the U.S. In the following years, they reunited on Hayley Williams’ debut solo LP, Petals for Armor, with the track “Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris” and appeared on each other’s albums, as well.

Additionally, a savvy TikTok user captured the trio posing on the curb for a photo shoot that mimics Nirvana in Mademoiselle Magazine in 1993, in which the grunge band wore skirts and cropped sweaters. So, perhaps a new video is on the way, as well? (Update 1/19: The shoot was for their Rolling Stone cover.)
