Ohio music store would “rather starve” than sell to Trump supporters
An Ohio music store by the name of Joe’s Music has come under fire for it hesitancy to to sell its merchandise to Trump supporters. The owner, who has only been identified as Joe, hung a sign in his window denouncing right wingers’ practices. Then, the shop’s owner shared a photo of the sign to Facebook. The original post has since been deleted.
The sign claims that the owner feels as though taking Trump supporters’ money is a reflection of his own personal morality. In fact, the sign says that the owner would “rather starve and close the store” than sell to that group of people.
“Dear Trump supporters,” the sign reads. “I am truly sorry, however I feel unclean and dirty accepting money from you. Please, politely shop somewhere else. Sorry, I would rather starve and close the store than participate in wrongdoing. Many blessings to you. I hope you understand.

According to Cleveland 19, the owner took to Facebook again to clarify his position after the sign amassed a ton of backlash.
“Let me be very clear this is not a ban,” Joe says. “I am asking people to make a choice. There is a difference between asking and telling. I am not refusing service to anyone."
However, Joe’s decision has come with hefty backlash, despite his intentions.
“I did not do this for attention,” Joe says in a story with the Hill. “I have posted things before about President Trump, so I didn’t expect this response.”That said, many people have taken to various social media platforms to contest the owner’s latest policy.
Additionally, a shop that goes by the same name in Michigan, has since denounced the Ohio shop’s practices. On the flip side, many are also supporting Joe’s Music.
According to the Hill, Joe’s Music offers lessons in addition to selling instruments.
