Metallica drummer on new Kurt Cobain documentary: "It was almost too much"
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich recently appeared as a guest on an episode of Nikki Sixx's radio show, Sixx Sense, (via TeamRock). During his time on the show, he discussed the newly released Kurt Cobain documentary, Montage Of Heck, describing it as “unique” and that he had “never quite seen a film like that.”
But he also touched on how certain areas may have gone a little too far: “I was kind of sitting there going, ‘Do I really need to see Kurt Cobain in a bathtub?’ As a fan of Cobain, and as a fan of Nirvana, it was almost too much, it was almost too close. Because next time I hear “Come As You Are” or one of those songs, I’ll still sit there and think of him in a bathtub of him shaving, or that scene at the end where he’s holding Frances, and some of that stuff, which was challenging to watch.”

The film, which was directed by Academy Award-nominee Brett Morgen and produced by Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain (Courtney Love was denied any editorial control), will cover the span of the singer's entire life, from infancy to his tragic death.
