Alice Cooper is clarifying some statements he made about him and his wife having a rumored “death pact.”
Cooper and his wife Sheryl Goddard made headlines in the UK when The Mirror quoted him saying he and his wife were going to “go together” when one of them dies because there’s “no way of surviving without each other.”
Cooper spoke to USA Today about the alleged statements, clarifying what he mean.
“We have a life pact. We love life so much,” he said.
“What I was meaning was that because we’re almost always together, at home and on the road, that if something did happen to either of us, we’d most likely be together at the time,” Cooper said. “But neither of us has a suicide pact. We have a life pact.”
The couple has been together since she began attending his shows in 1975.

The comments come after Strauss joined Evanescence to perform “Disappear” at Epicenter Festival this year.
“It was a dream,” Strauss said. “Amy Lee and Evanescence, she was a real trailblazer for women in music. And for me to get to stand on stage with her, and of course, the amazing band, Troy McLawhorn and Jen Majura, an amazing guitar attack, and Will Hunt on drums. It was an awesome experience.”
You can see some videos of the performance below.
She also discussed balancing her solo career with her role in Alice Cooper.
“I actually don’t have more than a week off until the end of November. And we’re in May,” she said. “I’ve been living on the road most of my life, so you get used to it. There’s a Walmart everywhere.”
