The punk rock legend covered Kim Wilde’s iconic track “Kids In America” while wishing his bandmate a happy birthday tagged with a fun illustration of Dirnt as a unicorn.
Previously, Armstrong has been sharing covers to entertain people while they’re at home right now including a cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tommy James And The Shondells. He then appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden and performed the track with his two sons, Jakob Danger (Ultra Q) and Joey Armstrong (SWMRS).
Now, he’s sharing a new cover song dedicated to his bandmate Mike Dirnt.
The song was originally recorded in 1981 while Billie Joe Armstrong is specifically highlighting it has also been recorded by the Muffs.
The cover of “Kids In America” also comes with a fun illustration of Dirnt as a unicorn dancing along to the song.
