By Saturday, April 13 YouTube confirmed the music video broke the record for most-viewed 24 hour debut in the service’s history!

“Yes, we’re still running the numbers. But we can confirm that ‘Boy With Luv’ feat. Halsey is now *officially* the most-viewed 24 hour debut in @YouTube history!!”

While the total number of views is not yet official, estimates believe it is over 78 million in just 24 hours.

The record was previously held by BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” video which broke the record earlier this month. The K-pop group totaled 56.7 million views in 24 hours, breaking Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next” record of 55.4 million views.

BTS debuted their first live performance of the track on last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live, making history again as the first-ever South Korean musical guest to appear on the show.

It was recently revealed that BTS would be performing the track with Halsey for the very first time at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards on May 1.
