The world has been anxiously awaiting Eminem‘s response to Machine Gun Kelly’s “Rap Devil”, wondering when and how the declared ‘Rap God’ will respond to the diss track. Now, Em sits down in an exclusive interview with Sway Calloway to address “this fucking weird thing” with MGK.

In ‘The Kamikaze Interview: Part 2’ Eminem discusses the Slaughter House saga, his new Kamikaze album, and what we’ve all been waiting for… MGK.

“The shit is, just for the record, the thing that was going on that he was saying about my daughter, I didn’t even know about that until literally like a year and a half later,” Eminem tells Sway. “It never hit my radar.”

So what brought on the MGK diss in Em’s latest album?

“The reason I dissed him is actually a lot more petty than that. The reason that I dissed him is because he got on—first he said ‘I’m the greatest rapper alive since my favorite rapper banned me from Shade 45’ or whatever he said, right? Like I’m trying to hinder his career. I don’t give a fuck about your career. You think I actually fucking think about you? You know how many fucking rappers are better than you? You’re not even in the fucking conversation.”

Shots fired.

Em goes on to address MGK’s Tech N9ne rap, his Twitter posts, and his freestyle about Shade 45.

“Shut the fuck up. Shut the fuck up. Now, I’m in this fucking weird thing because I’m like, I gotta answer this motherfucker.”

“I wanna destroy him, but I also don’t wanna make him bigger you know what I’m saying? Because now you’re a fucking enemy. So, I’ll leave it at that. I’m not sure exactly what I’m gonna do at this point right now because I’m still kinda waiting to see what.”

And what did Em think of MGK’s “Rap Devil” track?

“It’s not bad for him. He had some good lines in it.”

You can listen to the full interview below with the MGK talk starting around the 8:08 mark.

Whitney is your definition of pop punk trash. If she's not jamming to State Champs or Grayscale, then she's probably out enjoying the finer things or working a show for Fearless Records as a Street Team Leader. She's a realist and an optimist, calling the city of Columbus her home. A huge fan of naps, Whitney often falls asleep in a city that doesn't. She's not hard to please, finding joy in discovering new bands or playing Everlong on the late night radio. Working at Alt Press and breaking ground in the music scene have always been a dream of hers, telling herself at an early age she was down for losing it all to make that happen! Now the weekend writer at AP, Whitney is prepared to be noticed and eager to contribute to the scene. If you catch her at a concert feel free to stick around, make small talk, or discuss her overuse of State Champs lyrics and song titles in her bio.
