For the second time in a month, Facebook experienced a worldwide outage where users were unable to access the social networking sites. According to DownDetector.com, both Instagram and WhatsApp were also down for roughly two hours Sunday morning.

The website, used to track online service outages, listed tens of thousands of reports from social media users confirming outages in their area.

The issues began around 6:30 a.m. EST and lasted over two hours. Issues ranged from users being unable to log in to newsfeeds not refreshing.

The outage also prevented messages from being sent in both WhatsApp and Messenger.

This second outage comes almost exactly one month after the company’s biggest outage in history, where Facebook and Instagram were down for almost 24 hours.

The social media sites began to come back online around 9:00 a.m. EST this morning with Facebook releasing a statement to The Verge saying, “Earlier today, some people may have experienced trouble connecting to the family of apps. The issue has since been resolved; we’re sorry for any inconvenience.”

While majority of users have since been able to access their social media sites, there are still a few areas on DownDetector.com that are experiencing outages.

Back in March, Facebook and Instagram experienced a similar situation to which Facebook blamed a server change for the issue.

Users once again took to Twitter to vent their frustrations over the outage with some hilarious tweets.
