Fall Out Boy‘s Patrick Stump is a busy man these days. Not only is the musician on tour with his main act while sculpting soundscapes for upcoming thriller Spell, he’s also providing incidental music for a six-part documentary series promoting a more rational reading of science among the public.

Let Science Speak is the new Stump-scored series showing this week at the Tribeca TV Festival, as reported by Business Insider, and its aim is to combat the so-called War on Science that’s causing alarm for environmentalists and others.
“Science is intrinsic to who we are,” resounds a presumably scholarly voice in the trailer for Let Science Speak, which can be viewed below. “People in the highest levels of government don’t even believe in climate change,” utters another.
And the Fall Out Boy singer/guitarist seems happy to help these scientists speak out. He says his dream career choice as a youngster was one of a more, uh, scientific persuasion. (As opposed to playing in one of the biggest bands around.)
“When I was a little kid, if you had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always say ’Scientist,’” Stump recalls. “To use my music to help tell the stories of these people who are essentially my heroes is very cool.”
