“Lorna” was all Bolles wrote in a Facebook post, later adding in the comments, “she left this mortal coil today around 1.”

The Germs formed in 1976 with an incredible lineup that featured Doom, Darby Crash, guitarist Pat Smear, and Belinda Carlisle. The band later recruited Bolles on drums and released their full length album (GI) in 1979.

Crash’s suicide in 1980 at the age of 22 caused the Germs to disband. The band later reformed in 2005 with actor Shane West for a reunion show that would later spark the idea for the Germs biopic, What We Do Is Secret. They continued to play shows with this lineup through 2009.

The Germs were also one of the punk bands featured in Penelope Spheeris’ 1981 documentary The Decline of Western Civilization.

No cause of death has been confirmed at this time.

Alt Press sends our deepest condolences to Lorna’s family and friends at this time.
