The ‘Hocus Pocus’ cast is finally reuniting but not for the reason you think

Yes, it’s true. The cast of Hocus Pocus is officially reuniting this Halloween, but it’s not for the reason you might think.

For Halloween 2020, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are reuniting for a special event on Oct. 30.

The iconic Sanderson Sisters are reuniting again this year. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, they’ve had to change some plans to make sure this year’s reunion is safe for all.

So, the entire reunion is happening virtually for fans around the world. The In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover event is part of Midler’s annual Hulaween festivities.

Although the trio is not reuniting for the Hocus Pocus sequel (yet), this year’s reunion is for a good cause. The Oct. 30 event is benefitting the New York Restoration Project. The NYRP is dedicated “to creating more green space for underserved communities to grow their own food, connect, and access safe spaces directly in their neighborhood.”

Specific details for the Hocus Pocus virtual event have not been released yet. However, tickets for the reunion are on sale now and can be purchased here.

Even though the reunion is a month away, fans can shop online in advance for limited-edition merchandise. As well, they can also attend virtual classes at the Sanderson Sisters Charm School.

As for the Hocus Pocus sequel, not much has been revealed yet. So far, we know that it is in the works at Disney+. However, casting and plot details for the highly-awaited film are still unknown. According to Bustle, Disney is hopeful Midler, Parker and Najimy will reprise their roles as the Sanderson Sisters, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Last year, Midler told Entertainment Tonight that the trio would love to reprise their roles for the new Hocus Pocus film.

“Oh my goodness me. Oh I hope they get to me before I’m a corpse,” she said. “We wanna fly again. I hope Disney+ is a big success and I hope we get to do it, because [Winifred] is of course one of my favorite characters.”

Although we will be waiting a while for the sequel, Halloween 2020 is rolling out the red carpet for new Hocus Pocus-inspired products.

Three Sanderson Sister-inspired Starbucks drinks were just added to the chain’s unofficial “secret menu.” As well, a Hocus Pocus board game was also announced. In order to win the game, players must outsmart the Sanderson Sisters’ quick wits and magical spells.

Most recently, cosmetics company Colourpop is teasing its new Hocus Pocus collection. On Friday, the company shared a preview of the upcoming line which launches on Sept. 30.
