On Aug. 5, it was confirmed that Hulu is canceling High Fidelity after just one season. The series was a gender-bending reimagination of the 2000 film starring John Cusack. Both projects are based on Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel High Fidelity.

In the series, Kravitz starred as Rob, a record store owner obsessed with all things music. Alongside Kravitz, Jake Lacy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and David H. Holmes helped complete the first season’s cast.

The High Fidelity series was originally ordered more than two years ago. It was initially being developed by Disney+, but moved to Hulu in April 2019 after Disney took control of the streaming platform.

Following the news of the cancelation, Kravitz took to social media to share a statement. Along with some photos from the show’s set, Kravitz thanks the cast, crew and everyone involved. She ends the caption with “#breakupssuck,” a slogan for High Fidelity.

“I wanna give a shout out to my #highfidelity family,” she says. “Thank you for all the love and heart you put into this show. I’m in awe of all of you. And thank you to everyone who watched, loved and supported us. #breakupssuck”

Kravitz previously shared that she would love to do a second season of High Fidelity. In the new season, she hoped that the characters and storylines would be explored further.

“I think the show has a lot of potential,” she says. “I think there’s a lot more growing to do for everybody and a lot more trouble to get into. There’s a lot of places we could go and I would love to go there.”

Highly Fidelity has been part of the Kravitz family for decades. Zoe’s mother Lisa Bonet starred alongside Cusack in the 2000 film. Bonet played Marie DeSalle, the ex-girlfriend of Cusack’s Rob.

Although High Fidelity is canceled, we’ll be seeing Kravitz on-screen again soon. Back in October, news broke that Kravitz is playing Catwoman in the Batman trilogy. Directed by Matt Reeves, Robert Pattinson is playing a young Bruce Wayne in the upcoming film.
