Julien Baker responds to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Julien" in the best way

Yesterday, Carly Rae Jepsen dropped another single from her highly anticipated upcoming album, a low-key dance jam titled “Julien.” As you can imagine, our hearts fluttered with hope that this track would feature Julien Baker, or at least pay homage to our indie queen.

Unfortunately, it appears neither are the case, but that didn’t stop the internet from pretending Jepsen wrote the track specifically for Baker.

It also didn’t stop Baker from replying to those assumptions in the very best way.

The “Call Me Maybe” singer’s forthcoming album Dedicated is set to drop May 17. So far, fans have heard the tracks “Party For One,” “Now That I Found You” and “No Drug Like Me.”

Yesterday, Jepsen tweeted the announcement debuting her latest track, “Julien.”

“Julien is the song that taught me the heart and direction of this album. Couldn’t keep him for myself any longer.”

While the track (unfortunately) isn’t about our beloved Baker, that didn’t stop fans from having a little fun with the track’s title.

Baker’s response to the tweet was the perfect “OMG” moment we needed today.

“damn what do I do with this song called Carly I wrote”

The responses to Baker’s tweet made it even better.
