Krampus haunted house brings the Christmas demon back to town

Halloween might be over, but thanks to Krampus, that doesn’t mean the scares have to stop. The Christmas demon is expanding his reign of terror with the return of a holiday-themed haunted house with new chapters.

The Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group is bringing the scares year-round with its “13th Floor” and “Nightmare” haunted attractions. While several locations across the U.S. will be reviving the Krampus-themed house, it will be making its debut at 13th Floor Columbus in Ohio and 13th Floor Houston in Texas.

Each location has a different storyline between “A Haunted Christmas,” “Chapter 2: Jack Frost,” and “Chapter 3: Holiday Spirits.” The different plots bring about Krampus, his evil elves and if you’re engrossed in Chapter 2, the menacing Jack Frost.

The Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group attractions follow previous adaptations of the Christmas demon including one from Krampus director Michael Dougherty. The 2015 horror film came to life at Pittsburgh-based Scarehouse that same year alongside one of Dougherty’s other beloved films, Trick ‘r Treat.

General admission tickets for this 2019 Krampus attraction from Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group include the main attraction, souvenir photo-op and mini escape games. Various locations also have Fast Pass and skip-the-line options.

More on Krampus

Elf on the Shelf is one holiday tradition that’s taken over in recent years, and horror fans will be glad to know it’s getting an epic update with Krampus on the Mantle.

Back in 2015, director Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r TreatGodzilla: King Of The Monsters) brought European folklore figure Krampus to life on the big screen with a film of the same name. Now, Dougherty’s dark holiday comedy is getting its own tradition thanks to FYE.

The story behind Elf on the Shelf is simple. One of Santa’s helpers descends upon a family’s home each morning to monitor and take notes before reporting back to St. Nick. Basically used as extra leverage in making sure children stay on the “Nice List,” families across the world move the elf in question around in different ridiculous scenarios.

With the new Krampus figure, however, it’s quite the opposite. “Krampus On The Mantle, he won’t cut you any slack if you are acting naughty he is going to attack,” the packaging reads. “A demonic parody for those who truly deserve it.”

Krampus on the Mantle runs $34.99, and you can grab yours exclusively at FYE here.
