“I just keep thinking about whose job it was on set every day to dirty up the cat. Like, ‘oh, yeah, I have to go in early tomorrow, I have to rub some Vaseline and coffee grounds on this cat,” the tweet reads.

Along with the tweet, the user posted two side-by-side photos so users could get the full idea of the cat’s transformation.

Many users were shocked to find out the cat in the film was a real-life cat actor. The user who initiated the thread even discovered that 5 cats were used in the film: “one for jumping, one for hissing, one for staring into the camera looking scary, etc.”

Even the film itself tweeted in response to the commentary about the cat.

Understandably, Twitter went on a role with all this information and had some amazing responses.

We definitely still have a lot of questions, but this entire thread is what makes us love Twitter.

As previously mentioned, Pet Sematary hit theaters today. It debuted a SXSW festival and totally wowed critics and fans who got a chance to see it early. Also, King himself says the film is “fucking great.”

Before it’s release, the film dropped one final spine-chilling trailer that you should definitely watch below if you haven’t.

In case you aren’t familiar with the story, Pet Sematary is based off of King’s 1983 novel and the 1989 movie adaptation.

Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz play Louis and Rachel Creed in the film. Also, Jeté Laurence will play Ellie and three-year-old twins Hugo and Lucas Lavoie will be Gage, her little brother.

The film is directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widnyer.

You can also read Paramount Picture’s synopsis below:

“Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed, who, after relocating with his wife Rachel and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.”
