If there’s one thing that Stephen King’s 1983 horror novel, Pet Sematary taught us, it’s better to keep things dead. Though, Hollywood must not have gotten the memo (or its located on top of an ancient burial ground) because nothing there ever really stays dead.

Announced back in 2017, King’s horror story will be getting a remake, and from the looks of it, the remake already appears to be reminiscent of the classic novel.

“One of the most interesting themes in the book, the original movie, and this one is, ‘How far would you go to see someone again?’” producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said to Entertainment Weekly. “But another thing we’re exploring is how you can’t run.”

For who will be portarying these characters, it was announced that Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz playing Louis and Rachel Creed.

As for who will be portraying the kids, Jeté Laurence will play Ellie and three-year-old twins Hugo and Lucas Lavoie will be Gage, her little brother.

If you are unfamiliar with the horror classic, read Paramount Picture’s synopsis below:

“Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed, who, after relocating with his wife Rachel and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.”

While the synopsis is a thing of nightmares, the translation of the film to an actual trailer is pretty horrifying.
