Record Store Day officially marks its 13th year April 18. Like all the years preceding it, thereโs always something to get collectors excited. With planned releases from My Chemical Romance, Post Malone and Asking Alexandria on tap, none of your collector friends are going to sleep in on this particular Saturday.
Letโs start with the big one. Warner Records will be reissuing Life On The Murder Scene, the 2005 CD/DVD package by My Chemical Romance. The tracks were culled from different shows for fans (New Jerseyโs Starland Ballroom) and corporate gatherings (MTV, AOL, Launch).ย Most importantly, you can finally get โDesert Songโ on vinyl!

We donโt know if Post Malone is going to stay home on Record Store Day, but he is going big. In addition to a double-record set pressing of Hollywoodโs Bleeding, there will also be a series of four three-inch singles. And yes, youโre going to have to buy a special machine to play โem. The tracks being pressed are โGoodbyesโ (released last year a day after Postyโs birthday, July 5), โSouvenir De Sant-Trupes,โ โSunflowerโ (from Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse) and โWow.โ
Fearless Records will be issuing a sweet orange-vinyl seven-inch of โHeavenโ by Bayside. The flipside will be an acoustic version of the track from their effinโ great album Interrobang. Asking Alexandria will have their 2009 debut, Stand Up And Scream, dressed up in new artwork and a colored vinyl pressing yet to be revealed.ย
Ice Nine Kills are doing it right. Their Record Store Day 2020 artifact is The Silver Scream: Killer Cuts, a 10-inch six-track EP shaped like a circular saw blade pressed on silver and (what else?) red-splattered vinyl. (One AltPress editor is going to try to get two of those.) Another one weโre stoked to acquire is Fuktronic, an electronic soundtrack to โa one-of-a-kind British gangster film.โ The parties involved? System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian and Mindless Self Indulgence goofball Jimmy Urine. Only 2,500 lucky ducks will get this blue/black/white-marbled LP.

And if that big-ass income tax refund is burning a hole in your debit card (good for you, one-percenters), thereโs even more goodness on the UKโs RSD list.ย
