The video takes inspiration from the old silent films, with slides describing the action. It’s very cool. Check it out below.
Selfish Things released their debut LP Logos on Sep. 20. They began releasing singles from the highly anticipated album approximately 11 months before and later revealed that several high-profile names would appear on the record, including Spencer Chamberlain (Underoath), William Ryan Key (formerly of Yellowcard) and Andy Leo (Crown The Empire).
Now, that the video for “Torn” is out, we see that Spencer Chamberlain appears in it as well.
The style of the video is very dark and gritty. It reminds us of an old-timey film with a twirly mustache and a woman tied up on the train tracks.
The opportunity to not only have Chamberlain’s vocals on the track, but for him to appear in the video as well is rare.
“I normally don’t feature on records, but when I heard ‘Torn’ for the first time, it just blew me away,” Chamberlain tells Revolver. “I loved what these guys were up to, and Alex just had something about his voice that I loved.”
