“The death of young musicians isn’t something to romanticize”—Frances Bean Cobain to Lana Del Rey

Last week, Lana Del Rey caused a massive controversy when she admitted in an interview with the Guardian, “I wish I was dead already,” while discussing legendary Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse. “I do! I don’t want to have to keep doing this. But I am,” Del Rey continued.

Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of Kurt, took to Twitter early this morning to share her own thoughts about Del Rey’s comments. “The death of young musicians isn’t something to romanticize,” she said in a series of tweets, all of which you can read below.

She continued: “I’ll never know my father because he died young and it becomes a desirable feat because people like you think it’s ‘cool’. Well, it’s fucking not. Embrace life, because you only get one life.”

With the early loss of her father and the impact of his music on the world, it’s safe that Frances, more than most, has the right to an opinion on this. Read Cobain’s tweets below, and let us know your thoughts.
