‘A Star Is Born’ beats twenty one pilots’ ‘Trench’ for No. 1 album

twenty one pilots had a very successful week with their latest album Trench. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper are No. 1 in the box office and on the album charts for their new movie A Star Is Born, but the duo came in a close second—literally.

A Star Is Born’s soundtrack came in No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums ranking with sales that extend well beyond 230,000 units. twenty one pilots sold 175,000 units in the album’s first week with 135,000 being pure sales.

The face-off was expected as even twenty one pilots chimed in by sharing a meme replacing Gaga and Cooper with themselves.

Trench singles also proved individual success after “Jumpsuit” peaked at No. 50 and “Nico And The Niners” peaked at No. 79 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

A Star Is Born soundtrack is Gaga’s fifth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, and it’s the third biggest-selling soundtrack of 2018. As of now, it’s only behind soundtracks The Greatest Showman and Black Panther: The Album in sales.

Even though twenty one pilots were knocked from their spot on the charts doesn’t mean we don’t think Trench is the best album ever. The highly anticipated Bandito tour starts tomorrow, and the tour will hit many of the world’s biggest arena stages.
