It’s definitely been an eventful December for All Time Low. After sharing various cryptic clues, All Time Low announced they were teaming up with blackbear and Demi Lovato for a new version of “Monsters.” Then, on Dec. 4, All Time Low unveiled the highly-anticipated collab with a spooky lyric video.

Prior to the release of “Monsters (feat. blackbear)” with Lovato, Gaskarth revealed why they decided to put out a new version of the chart-topping song.

“Demi’s been a friend for a long time,” he said. “And we’re really excited that she was down to lend her absolutely incredible voice to this song as we reimagine it and continue to celebrate all the ways it’s connecting with fans around the world.”

Now that the new version of “Monsters” is finally out, Gaskarth is helping spread some holiday cheer. Of course, All Time Low are no strangers to holiday music. Back in 2011, they debuted “Merry Christmas, Kiss My Ass” on Dirty Work. As well, they unveiled “Fool’s Holiday” in 2013 as part of Fearless RecordsPunk Goes Christmas compilation.

Now, Gaskarth is giving one Christmas classic a true acoustic twist in a new cover. This week, he covered “Jingle Bell Rock” for MTV UK. Sitting beside his brightly lit Christmas tree, the All Time Low frontman gave the classic a new spin while also celebrating his birthday.

Back in October, Gaskarth offered an update on the future of Simple Creatures, his project with blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus. It’s been quite a while since the duo released their two EPs Strange Love and Everything Opposite. However, Gaskarth promises that there is still more to come from the project.

“There absolutely will be more music and more Simple Creatures to come,” Gaskarth said.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Simple Creatures were forced to change their plans for 2020 which is why fans haven’t heard from them in a while.

“We had all these plans, we had music kicking around,” he said. “Then COVID hit, and it’s obviously shaken the year up and plans have had to change, naturally.”

Gaskarth further shared that he and Hoppus plan to finish up a few songs soon. When will that happen? Well, he’s still not sure.

“We need to kind of find that moment where we can get together in a studio and button up a couple of songs, and see where it goes from there.”
