Here's how Snapchat's group video chat, @ mention features work
Snapchat is introducing two new features for users—group video calling and @ mention tagging, all hoping to connect users in a brand new way.

As Mashable explains, chatting is, surprisingly or not, a core part of the app, with more than 60 percent of Snapchat users using the app's chat service.
What's cool? Previously, users were only allowed to do one-to-one video chats. But according to engadget, the group video chat feature will now let you hang out with up to 16 of your friends at the same time—or, 32 if you're using voice-only calling.
The move is to encourage people to “spend more time on the app” and broaden Snapchat's “core message of being a camera app.”

Though not as much has been revealed about Snapchat's new @ mention feature, it's essentially a Twitter/Facebook-esque update that'll let you type @, followed by the username of the person you're hoping to tag.
As engadget explains, the person will get a notification that they're tagged, and this'll let people watching your Snap more easily add the @ mentioned person as a friend.
These features are set to be rolling out to users over the next few weeks—so get excited.
