John O’Callaghan is a glam cowboy in the Maine’s “how to exit a room” video

Besides nearing the end of another Sad Summer, the Maine are preparing for the release of their new self-titled album (arriving Aug. 1 via Photo Finish/8123). Today, the pop-rock outfit shared a new music video for their single “how to exit a room.”
The black-and-white video features a rather dapper John O’Callaghan riding a horse through the desert, seemingly on a mission of importance. Toward the end, the frontman arrives at a door, but it’s unclear what’s waiting for him on the other side.

“There’s a lot of things you don’t know about me,” O’Callaghan says. “Me riding a horse fast as hell probably wasn’t on your ‘The Maine music video’ bingo card, but I did just that for our brand-new video for ‘how to exit a room.’ I admit it’s ridiculous, but we’ve always had a vision of this video, and we finally brought it to life. From now on, when I feel like leaving a party, this is how I’ll leave.”
