The film is currently nameless and there are little to no details about it.

The last film in the series was The First Purge in 2018, which was the highest-grossing film in the series. The first movie hit theaters in 2013, and they’ve grossed more than $456 million worldwide.

James DeMonaco will return to write the script for the fifth movie. Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes will produce the film.

The premise of the movies is that they take place in a dystopian future where there is a 12-hour period each year where all crime is legal, and madness ensues. You can see the trailer for the first film in the series below.

Besides the movie, the Purge also got made into a TV series and premiered last September on USA for 10 episodes. You can see the trailer for it below.

However, according to Metacritic, the series was one of the worst new TV shows of 2018 alongside Insatiable, Heathers and more.

Who knows what the theme of the next Purge movie will be, but we can’t wait to find out more information about the film in general.
