It seems at least one of the Tiger King spinoffs may have found its Carole Baskin. According to People, Tara Reid (SharknadoAmerican PieThe Big Lebowski) is reportedly in talks to play Joe Exotic's nemesis.

The news comes fresh off the heels of another Tiger King spinoff series revealing that Nicolas Cage will potentially play the eccentric zoo owner in Exotic.

Netflix's Tiger King has become a cultural phenomenon that just won't run out of steam. Particularly now, with a number of adaptations currently in the works.

Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (Joe Exotic) is an incarcerated former zoo operator and self-professed most prolific tiger breeder in the U.S.

He ran an exotic animal park in Oklahoma and twice unsuccessfully ran for public office in 2016 and 2018. The documentary series focuses on the feud between Joe and animal rights activist Carole Baskin. It also involves a lot of issues relating to a murder for hire plot as well as the disappearance of Baskin’s husband who went missing in 1997.

Baskin runs Big Cat Rescue and was the target of Exotic’s murder-for-hire plot that ultimately landed him in prison. She recently made news by being pranked into giving her first public interview since Tiger King's airing.

Now, there's bigger fish to fry. Tara Reid could be the chosen one to portray Baskin. Reid was a very popular actress around the turn of the 21st century. Having starred in the American Pie films, as well as The Big Lebowski. Her career achieved the second wave of success with the incredibly popular horror-comedy Sharknado in 2013.

Reid is now reportedly in talks to potentially play her biggest role yet with the film adaptation of Tiger King.

"We can't say much other than she is being considered by the producers of the Tiger King production," Reid's manager and business partner, Philippe Ashfield said to People

In a separate statement, Ashfield reiterated the news to the New York Post

“We are in talks with the producers and she is being considered, that is all I can say at the moment as casting is on hold,” Ashfield said.

“Tara loves ‘Tiger King’ and found the documentary extremely interesting. She feels she could get into the character of Carole Baskin very well and she has a similar look to [Baskin],” Ashfield added.

Certainly, Reid has the acting chops to portray the aloof Baskin, and portray her well. And, as a matter of fact, Reid might have hinted at the news herself. She recently posted a picture, with the caption being Baskin's catch phrase in her videos.

Ever since the Tiger King series arrived on Netflix, its become a massive hit.

Along this journey, we found out that Joe Exotic’s music wasn’t actually his, and we’ve seen those songs covered by everyone from Trivium‘s Matt Heafy to the Offspring. We learned he asked for Marilyn Manson‘s endorsement when he ran for public officeTiger King ruined other shows for twenty one pilots‘ Tyler Joseph and unfortunately, led to a brief roast of Mötley Crüe‘s Vince Neil by Joel McHale

If Tara Reid does get cast as Baskin, we can't wait to see who the production casts as Exotic, in addition to Baskin's husband, Howard.
