Waterparks record ‘Entertainment’ mashup to feel like they “own old music”
The boys felt like taking control of their old music and released a medley of sorts of some songs from their second album Entertainment. Check it out below.
Waterparks self-released this track to feel like they can own their own music. While the 7:43 song features elements from the entire Entertainment album, it showcases "Tantrum", "Crybaby" and "Peach (Lobotomy)". Listen to the marathon of a banger below.
In a couple of tweets, Waterparks discussed the reasonings for the release. The first tweet references the second song off FANDOM "Watch What Happens Next". The song is a bit of a callout to Waterparks' old label Equal Vision Records and includes the lyrics "Got nothing from my label/Bitch, pay me what you owe me." Waterparks are now signed to Hopeless Records.
WHAT COMES NEXT IS FOR US. TO FEEL LIKE WE ACTUALLY OWN OUR OWN OLD MUSIC. BECAUSE WE DON’T. SOMEONE ELSE DOES. EVERYTHING YOU’RE ABOUT TO HEAR THIS WEEKEND LATER THIS WEEK TOO) WAS COMPLETELY RE-RECORDED IN 4 DAYS AND IT’S WHAT I NEED TO FEEL GOOD ABOUT OUR SITUATION. ENJOY.
THIS ISN’T JUST A RE-RECORDING. IT’S SOMETHING SPECIAL. YOU’LL SEE. AND IT WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT @ZAKKCERVINI DROPPING EVERYTHING HE WAS WORKING ON WHEN I TOLD HIM MY IDEA AND HOW QUICKLY WE NEEDED IT HE IS THE MAN. GO SEND HIM SOME HUMAN CENTIPEDES FOR ME
