A graphic for the song “Falling Down” appeared on XXXTentacion’s official Instagram on Tuesday. The caption of the photo simply read, “dropping tomorrow @ 9 a.m. EST.” The same graphic appeared on Lil Peep’s Instagram story.
In XXXTentacion’s story, an additional graphic came before the big reveal. The text featured a heartbreaking line from one of XXXTentacion’s last studio sessions for “Falling Down.”
“His name will live, brother,” XXXTentacion said. “I feel hella shitty because it’s like, if I would’ve known he was so cool, I would’ve fucked with him sooner.”
Hip-hop artist ILoveMakonnen posted on his Instagram a month ago, sharing that he was in the process of making the collab. There was originally no release date on the track.
“Peep and I always believed that music heals and brings people together in a way nothing else can,” ILoveMakonnen says. “When I heard X’s recording, talking about my dear friend Peep, I could not wait any longer to share this. @lilpeep @xxxtentacion coming ASAP!!!!”
Details of the collab were confirmed by ILoveMakonnen. Can’t wait until tomorrow? Check out a snippet of the song below.
