Yeek’s “Leave With Me” ends summer on a high note

Yeek is preparing to drop his latest album, Future Reference, at the end of the month, and today the experimental pop artist is back with a final preview.

“Leave With Me” is a bubbly summer romp that possesses soul in spades as Yeek sings of an ambiguous romance. In the accompanying music video, Yeeks completes a trilogy by filming in places where he’s lived. Roots are a crucial part of his artistry, and the visual offers a warm tribute to growing up in South Florida as he chills in the back of pick-up trucks and joins warehouse raves around Naples.

“The ‘ETA2’ video, shot in LA, is an ode to my day jobs after moving out here, trying to make it happen while working two jobs to support myself,” Yeek says. “‘$$$$’ was shot in New York, dedicated to my time sleeping on my creative director Chris Cadaver and K00pz’ [of Stray Rats] couch right after my debut album Sebastian was released. At that point, I was just beginning to enjoy the freedom of the lifestyle that comes with having a career as a musician. Finally, ‘Leave With Me’ is an ode to my relationship to Florida, shot in Naples. The wholesome, grounding nature of the beaches perfectly closes the loop on this story arc of all the places I’ve grown up and leads perfectly into Future Reference as a whole.”

Future Reference arrives Aug. 25 via Stem. See the tracklist, album artwork, and video for “Leave With Me” below.
