Last week, it was revealed that Chris Fehn was suing Slipknot for unfair compensation for his time spent on tour. Yesterday, Slipknot announced they had parted ways with their percussionist, and lead singer Corey Taylor spoke out about the band being accused of stealing. Now, it appears that former Slipknot guitarist Donnie Steele has come to Fehn's defense.

Steele was one of the founding members of Slipknot, but left the band before their debut album. He later returned to the band for a brief period after bassist Paul Gray's death in 2010, playing his parts for live shows from offstage.

Over the weekend, a thread appeared on the Slipknot Reddit page with a screenshot of an alleged, since-deleted Facebook post from Steele in which he writes, "Lol! Don't blame him…"

A fan replied to the post, asking if he was referring to Fehn. Steele responded with:

"Nobody likes to get lied to and ripped off. I know first hand"

He then added, "and most, MOST of them can't write. In the three years I toured with them, I actually spent more time in writing sessions and the studio then I did on the road. All done behind other members back. That's how they roll."

New opinion from Donnie (ex-member) from r/Slipknot

Corey Taylor says Slipknot are "wrongfully accused"

Following the alleged lawsuit news, Taylor took to Twitter to put out a drama-inducing tweet, in which many people think is related to the beef with Fehn.

“You’re gonna read a lot of bullshit today,” Taylor says in the tweet. “This is all I’ll say. JUST YOU WAIT TIL THE TRUTH COMES OUT. Long Live The Knot.”

Then, the band took to their official site to release a statement explaining that Fehn was out of the band for good.

“Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6 and our upcoming shows around the world—our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life. Long live the knot.”

The band also recently announced a massive North American tour. The band haven’t commented on if someone will fill in for Fehn.
