69-year-old Chen San-yuan, a Taiwanese grandpa, began his journey after his grandson introduced him to the mobile game.

San-yuan was interviewed by Taiwanese YouTube channel EXP.GG when he started out with just nine phones tied to his bike, but according to the BBC, he’s now upgraded to eleven.

Apparently adopting the nickname “Uncle Pokemon,” San-yuan reportedly spends more than $1,250 a month to fund his habit and up to 20 hours chasing virtual Pokémon until the phone batteries die.

Though the game has proven to be super addictive, San-yuan also finds health benefits from playing it. “There’s a lot of fun,” Chen told EXP.GG. “I can connect with people, prevent Alzheimer’s disease.”
