Here’s why fans are defending Harry Styles over his new 'Vogue' cover
Harry Styles is making American Vogue history as the first solo male to ever appear on the magazine’s cover.
Naturally, the news spread like wildfire and quickly began trending on social media. However, Styles’ latest photoshoot is gaining some attention for a reason you may not expect.

Over the years, Styles has truly shown off his androgynous style. From wearing glittery suits onstage to using a purse and painting his fingernails, Styles is one of many individuals expressing themselves regardless of gender clothing stereotypes.
For his new Vogue photoshoot, Styles continues to do just that. The One Direction member can be seen in various lavish dresses and accessories that are considered to be feminine.

In his cover story, Styles shares that clothing is all about experimentation without limits.
“Clothes are there to have fun with and experiment with and play with. What’s really exciting is that all of these lines are just kind of crumbling away,” he says. “There’s so much joy to be had in playing with clothes. I’ve never really thought too much about what it means—it just becomes this extended part of creating something.”

Now, it looks like his Vogue cover is being hit with some controversial feedback. Conservative figure Candace Owens recently shared her opinion on the photoshoot.
“There is no society that can survive without strong men. The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence. It is an outright attack. Bring back manly men.”

Jameela Jamil also defended Styles while reminding everyone that wigs, tights and makeup were once considered to be masculine looks.
Also… this was at one time considered very manly. Wigs, make up, tights, frills… maybe this is the comeback of the “manly man.” pic.twitter.com/8dvSRGYj4w

Some fans are even flooding a recent post from Candace Owens with numerous comments. She recently did an interview with Playboy where she wore a pantsuit, a fashion choice fans decided to call out as being “too masculine” for her to wear.
