It looks like Harry Styles is making his return to acting for Olivia Wilde‘s new psychological thriller Don’t Worry, Darling.

Styles is replacing Shia LaBeouf who was originally cast in the film.

Styles first made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan‘s critically-acclaimed 2017 film Dunkirk. Since then, Styles has been hard at work on his solo music outside of One Direction. His most recent album Fine Line debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 following its release in December.

Now, it looks like Styles is trading in his microphone for a movie script. He has been cast alongside Florence Pugh (Midsommar, Black Widow), Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) and Chris Pine (Wonder Woman, Star Trek) in Don’t Worry, Darling.

According to Deadline, LaBeouf is no longer able to star in the psychological thriller due to scheduling conflicts. Pugh, Johnson and Pine signed on to the project earlier this year. Along with directing, Wilde also has a supporting on-screen role in the film.

So far, few details are known about Don’t Worry, Darling‘s plot. The film is set in an isolated utopian community in the 1950s California desert.

Don’t Worry, Darling‘s original script was created by Shane and Carey Van Dyke. A copy of it was previously released on the internet. However, Wilde’s Booksmart partner Katie Silberman is re-writing the script for the film.

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is executive producing the film alongside Shane and Carey Van Dyke. As well, Wilde and Silberman will produce along with Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon.

Along with Don’t Worry, Darling, Wilde is also set to direct an upcoming Marvel project. She will also direct and executive produce the Searchlight feature Perfect.

Naturally, Harry Styles fans around the world are very excited to hear about his return to acting.
