We were given our first sneak peek at Beetlejuice: The Musical late last year as it premiered at the National Theatre in Washington D.C. for a pre-Broadway run. Now, we have the first official teaser trailer as well as two songs!

If you’re still on the fence about snagging those Broadway tickets, maybe this will persuade you to grab those ASAP.

Back in October, Vanity Fair shared an exclusive photo from the set of the production, which stars Tony-nominated Alex Brightman (School Of Rock), as Beetlejuice and Sophia Anne Caruso (Lazarus) as Lydia.

Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!Peter And The Starcatcher) is directing the show, which features a score by Eddie Perfect (King Kong) and a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King (Broad City).

Check out an official first look at Beetlejuice: The Musical below!

You can also listen to two songs from the musical, “Dead Mom” and “Say My Name.”

We can’t wait to see this one, especially since it’s been almost 8 years in the making!

“[One of] the things that was really important to me was that we’re allowed to have edge, that it doesn’t just have to become a family musical like so many musicals on Broadway often do,” Timbers explains to Vanity Fair. “And they immediately they were like, ‘No, we want this to be really funny. We want it to be edgy, and we want it to be surprising.’”

And if you’re thinking this musical is just a remake of the film, think again.

“I thought the relationship between them was really exciting to me,” he says. “You’ve got a character who basically wishes he was alive and another character who wishes they were dead, in immediate conflict with each other, right? In terms of Lydia, I was like, ‘I really want to focus this on Lydia’s emotional journey.’”

Whitney is your definition of pop punk trash. If she's not jamming to State Champs or Grayscale, then she's probably out enjoying the finer things or working a show for Fearless Records as a Street Team Leader. She's a realist and an optimist, calling the city of Columbus her home. A huge fan of naps, Whitney often falls asleep in a city that doesn't. She's not hard to please, finding joy in discovering new bands or playing Everlong on the late night radio. Working at Alt Press and breaking ground in the music scene have always been a dream of hers, telling herself at an early age she was down for losing it all to make that happen! Now the weekend writer at AP, Whitney is prepared to be noticed and eager to contribute to the scene. If you catch her at a concert feel free to stick around, make small talk, or discuss her overuse of State Champs lyrics and song titles in her bio.
