If you’re a regular social media user, then it might feel as if every other week Instagram is down. And you’re not wrong.
Instagram went down twice in June, and now three days into July, the photo-sharing app is experiencing more issues. Parent company Facebook and sister company WhatsApp are also experiencing issues.

Around 9 a.m. EST, users began expressing issue with Instgram, causing the hashtag #InstagramDown to trend on Twitter–the one app that seems to be working today.
Many users, of course, kept refreshing. But they also reported specifically photo issues occurring across the apps. However, for most, it seems that the mobile apps are working but the desktop services are completely unusable.
Unlike last time when many jokingly believed Taylor Swift’s album announcement caused the spike in issues, there doesn’t seem to be one legitimately traceable cause.

Even artists in the scene started expressing issues with the apps such as Asking Alexandria singer Danny Worsnop.
“Trying to upload something to Instagram and it won’t let me. It’s saying network issue but everything else is running fine and speed check says my WiFi is running as normal. Any ideas?”

Like Facebook, WhatsApp is mostly in Western Europe as well as South America.
Neither Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp have commented on the outages. However, this post will be updated should a statement be released.
