However, it looks like Machine Gun Kelly has been working on a new project outside of his music. This week, Audio Up Media announced its new horror musical podcast HALLOWEEN IN HELL. Starring MGK, the podcast also includes iann dior, Dana Dentata and 24kGoldn.
HALLOWEEN IN HELL was conceived and produced by MGK and Audio Up’s CEO Jared Gutstadt. According to the press release, the new podcast is a fresh take and “homage to music horror hits like The Rocky Horror Picture Show meets the dark comedy of Nightmare Before Christmas.”
“Halloween, much like other major holidays, deserves its own entertainment tent pole,” Gutstadt says. “While a lot of people focus on Christmas, Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve, we really believe that Halloween is an undersurface time of year for folks to enjoy original content. I was always a fan of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Nightmare Before Christmas. We believe we’re creating an evergreen franchise that will allow us to unlock new stories every year with original music, possibly ending up in the realm of live or visual content. Machine Gun Kelly was an extremely logical and obvious partner for us. His brand pairs well with the season.”
The four-part epic holiday podcast is set during Halloween. 24KGoldn and Dentata are trapped on a soundstage that is reminiscent of Hell itself. After being lured by a sadistic host for a competition, they have to impress a jury of the damned while performing for their lives. In the end, only one will make it out alive.
Each cast member plays fictional versions of themselves, using cross-genre music to guide listeners through their journey to, literally, hell and back. HALLOWEEN IN HELL features an original soundtrack that includes music from Machine Gun Kelly, 24kGoldn, Dentata and iann dior. The soundtrack will be released through Audio Up.
HALLOWEEN IN HELL premieres on Oct. 10 and will be available on all podcast streaming platforms.
Earlier this week, MGK and blackbear unveiled a video for their chart-topping collab “my ex’s best friend.” As well, they are performing the new single this Sunday, Aug. 30 for the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show. blink-182‘s Travis Barker, who produced Tickets To My Downfall, is joining them for the performance.
“my ex’s best friend” has also earned Machine Gun Kelly’s and blackbear’s first No.1 on Billboard‘s Rock Streaming Songs chart. The single dethroned twenty one pilots‘ “Level Of Concern” which held the top spot since April 25.
Tickets To My Downfall arrives Sept. 25. Pre-orders for the album are available here.
