'Pokémon Go' confuses players with never-before-seen Pokémon

Pokémon Go just confused the hell out of all of us with a new, never-before-seen Pokémon that appears to have no name or CP…

Seriously, what is it?

At the conclusion of today’s Pokémon Go Community Day Event, players were left baffled and extremely confused by the spawning of a brand new Pokémon.

The weirdest part? No one seems to know what it is, what it’s doing, and it seems like it is unable to be caught.

After today’s Chikorita event, the game became flooded with this new creature. It’s body looks like that of a white-colored Ditto with a hexagonal nut for a head and one single eye right in the middle.

The name appears as “???” with a Combat Power rating of “???” and when you catch it, the creature turns into a regular Ditto.

At first, many thought it was some kind of glitch within the game, but a data miner named “Chrales” uncovered earlier this week information on “Kecleon,” a Gen 3 Pokémon that has yet to appear in the game.

Could this be Kecleon?

Chrales also discovered that the new addition has a Pokedex number of 891, which is a little weird considering the current highest Pokedex entry is 807.

BUT WAIT! It gets even more confusing…

Players also began reporting the appearance of what they believe to actually be Kecleon, but this too turns into a Ditto after being caught.

So if THAT creature is Kecleon… what the hell is this thing?

WE’RE SO CONFUSED!

Maybe this is to hype up the forthcoming Gen 4 Pokémon or perhaps it’s nothing more than a short-lived glitch to build excitement for Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s GO, Eevee! coming to Nintendo Switch this November.

Either way, it’s obvious Niantic is up to something.

Have you caught either of these weird Pokémon yet? What is your theory on these never-before-seen creatures? Sound off in the comments below!
