The Trivium frontman had to leave the band’s headlining tour at the end of last month to be home for the birth of his twin children. Jones, who was opening the tour with his current band Light The Torch, was happy to step in and help cover vocals when he left.

Heafy shared a video of the cover on a recent Twitch livestream, but that wasn’t the extent of his thank you. Heafy also gifted Jones with one of his guitars:

“There are not enough words to express the eternal gratitude that I have for Howard Jones for helping my family, my band, and our countless supporters in North America,” Heafy wrote.

“To see one of my all-time heroes so happy to be performing with our band – a band that wouldn’t exist without his influence – means the world to me. Mia and Akira love you Uncle Hojo! (The guitar is the LEAST I can do to thank you).”
