twenty one pilots are having a good year so far. After releasing their first post-Trench single “Level of Concern,” the duo created the first-ever neverending music video with the help of fans. Now, twenty one pilots can check another major music milestone off of their list.
By now, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun are used to breaking milestones and records with their music. Shortly following the release of “Level of Concern,” the single shot to No.1 on Billboard’s Alternative Song Chart. This accomplishment marks the seventh, yes seventh, twenty one pilots song to reach the No.1 spot. This also puts twenty one pilots in seventh place for most songs to reach the top of the chart. Red Hot Chili Peppers hold the top spot with 13 No. 1’s.
As well, “Level Of Concern” officially dethroned Panic! At The Disco for the top spot on Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs Chart. That was a feat that no one had done in an astounding 76-straight weeks. P!ATD “High Hopes” and “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” had held the spot since November of 2018.
In April, twenty one pilots hit another milestone. They became the first and only musical group to have every song on one album streamed over 100 million times on Spotify. The feat was accomplished by 2015’s Blurryface.
Now, twenty one pilots are celebrating another major milestone in their career. Their video for “Ride” has officially racked up over 1 billion views on YouTube, making it the third twenty one pilots video to do so. “Stressed Out” currently has 2 billion views and “Heathens” has reached over 1.4 billion views.
Outside of breaking records and reaching milestones, twenty one pilots are working on their next album. They are also cranking out a lot of “Level of Concern” content. Joseph and Dun recently sent fans on a scavenger hunt to unlock digital USB drives on a cryptic website.
After the fans completed the challenge in 12 hours, twenty one pilots launched the first-ever neverending music video. Powered by video software Imposium, the video refreshes every 3 minutes and 40 seconds with new fan clips in real-time.
