YUNGBLUD finally dropped the explosive video for his song “Parents” and made an insane announcement in the comments.

A few weeks ago, he dropped the track after some cryptic teasers that drove us crazy.

To take it back, fans started coming up with theories when the sudden appearance of a hotline number plastered across the world, suggesting everything from graphic novel-related teasing to a new song.

The first recorded story matched up with live videos of YUNGBLUD performing the unreleased track during his spring U.S. run.

That wasn’t the only reappearance as the teacher and preacher from story No. 2 and the toaster incident from story No. 3 were also mentioned in the song.

Three days worth of cryptic stories pointed fans to May 24, which was when we finally got to hear “Parents.”

Then, the teasing started up again, this time, for the music video that goes along with the track.

Over the weekend, YUNGBLUD announced a cryptic cross-city event for fans to find something special.

“im leavin somethin for you in some of your cities … eyes peeled,” the caption reads.

The clip starts with a countdown before asking for viewer’s attention, later showing clips of toothpaste, mints, and a “Daddy’s Got A Gun” DVD box.

Once fans acquired and watched the DVD, it became apparent YUNGBLUD was dropping the “Parents” video at long last.

Now, we’ve finally got to see it after all the teasing. In the video, YUNGBLUD shows that parents aren’t always right, and sometimes young people need to stand up for themselves, even if it’s a bit drastic.

You can see the official video for “Parents” down below.

YUNGBLUD co-wrote “Parents” with Justin Tranter (Julia Michaels, Fall Out Boy). He also teamed up with producers Zakk Cervini (Good Charlotte, Mayday Parade) and Chris Greatti (Grimes, Black Veil Brides) again having previously worked with them on “11 Minutes.”

As for the track’s concept, YUNGBLUD carries on with his message of not allowing society to dictate how you live your life.

“‘Parents’ is a tribute to individualism,” he explains. “You are the best judge of how to become the best you. Don’t conform to the outside world’s perception of who you should be if it means losing yourself in the process.”

Along with the video drop, YUNGBLUD teased that he’d be announcing something in the comments.

That announcement was apparently more tour dates with pre-sale tickets starting tomorrow!

Then, he made the official announcement for the Twisted Tales of The Ritalin Club Tour with support from Missio.

Other YUNGBLUD news

Aside from the “Parents” drop, YUNGBLUD has been promoting his collab with Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker called “I Think I’m Okay.”

The trio performed last week in Los Angeles on a whim. To fill you in,  Machine Gun Kelly performed in Anaheim as part of his Hotel Diablo tour. On the same night, YUNGBLUD was holding his show in Los Angeles at The Roxy Theatre. Both artists began teasing an “After Party” at The Roxy at midnight, with MGK driving to LA to surprise fans with a special performance of “I Think I’m Okay.” Barker joined, and it was a total party.

Taking to the top of a tour bus, MGK and YUNGBLUD gave an a cappella performance of the track for fans outside.

You can check out footage from the night’s events, below!
